Does your audience even LIKE you?

Hellloooo my beautiful friendsss,
We've all heard the “like, know, trust” formula, right? All successful brands create all three, whether they are doing it intentionally or not.
If I like you, my interest will be peeked.
If I know what you do, I'll want to check out your links. If I trust that who you are matches the results you sell, I'll want to work with you.
This week we'll start with the first: like.
I always tell my clients: “like” is not about performing some bland version of likability—it's permission to be fully yourself.
It's about resonance. If I see you and think, “oh, she reminds me of myself / my friends / or who I want to become,” I'll unconsciously like you. us humans are simple that way.
The first step to more sales is remembering you're not just creating “clients.” You're creating relationships. Two nervous systems. Two hearts. Two people exchanging value.
Steep this …
People like what feels both familiar and aspirational. The sweet spot is showing enough of yourself that your audience sees their reflection and their expansion.
Here's what I've learned after a decade with clients:
Aspirational content doesn't have to mean curated lattes and luxury travel. (although yes i do love this)
For a beginner cook, it could be watching their favorite small time chef land their first banquet.
For someone on a wellness journey, it could be a creator vulnerably sharing their own health ups and downs.
For a budding healer, it could be a shamanic entrepreneur openly living a wealthy lifestyle.
The common thread? Aspirational content sells a vision of a better future that ties directly to your value proposition.
“Like” doesn't always come from aspiration—it can come from relatability, humor, or conviction.
Maybe it's bloopers in your “serious” reel about somatic healing.
Maybe it's sharing raunchy memes that reveal your yummy humor.
Or maybe it's taking a stand…being polarizing, uncensored, unpalatable…and letting that be the exact reason people lean in.
This is why I love weaving Human Design and Astrology into my work. Not because the stars dictate who you are, but because they mirror you back to yourself. They reveal both the gifts and the shadows, giving you the language, reflection and permission to live them out loud, claim them publicly, and get paid for being who you are. The real tea …
Stop overcomplicating “likability.” You don't need a manufactured persona, just proof you're a real human.
The jokes you'd make to a friend. The spicy tea mug on your desk. The REAL conviction in your posts. That's what people actually “like.”
