Convincing is scarcity. Advocacy is power

Hellloooo my beautiful honiessss,
Advocating for your work is NOT the same thing as convincing people to work with you.
The energy of convincing feels:
insecure.
needing approval.
underdeveloped.
it feels like it's more about you than it is about the solution, impact or ripple effect
Advocacy feels like:
respect for the work.
unapologetic clarity.
embodied devotion.
it feels like it's more about the whole than any one persons need
Steep this …
Convincing feels like a heartbroken teenager pleading with their first love to not leave.
it's scarce, unclear, short sighted
Advocating feels like a journalist returning from a new country…eager to share the full story, rich with detail and too moved to hold anything back.
it's succulent, robust, telling a bigger story
The real tea …
BTW I'm not just talking about “advocacy vs. convincing” in the context of a single post.
It's a tone. A mood. An energetic posture the creative holds.
It's not just about the words (though sometimes it is).
It's about your relationship to the work, to your people, to the offer, to the platform you use to share it.
Great marketing is advocacy born from intimacy.
From having journeyed with your offer—
Learning its language, drinking from its wisdom, immersing yourself in its world
And then just neeeeeding to tell everyone about it.
Singing its song from the mountaintops.
Painting its portrait through the alleys of the town.
So those meant to find it can recognize it with ease.
Your work is bigger than you.
And it's definitely bigger than your insecurities.
Your job?
Find every place you're not properly advocating for your work..
Possible reasons you're not in advocacy:
~ Your time with the project has expired
~ Your philosophy has evolved
~ You're too focused on what “you” get out of it
~ You're unclear on who the work is really for
~ You don't yet know how to sing it's song
Find your reason. Re-direct your energy.
And if you want an Oracle's perspective—you know where to find me.

Song: Dear Jean by Loyle Carner
Show: Ok we re-watched Nine Perfect Strangers on Hulu in order to start season two, ummmm forgot it was SO good!
Sips: A beautiful loose leaf oolong tea, ceremonial style.
Shopping: Ok this isn't a shopping purchase but a new tool (free). NOTION. I'm so glad i gave it another try after years of dabbling. It's become my new project and i'm loving how organized i get to be, plus all the embed features.
Snap: I integrated my pinterest food boards into notion, which means i can visually shop for what i want to eat this week and build out my grocery list from there. So anyway, i'm obsessed lol. It's my own private Nativerse

You guys… let me share my beautiful (and very human) creative process in real time.
So….I'm making a powerful amendment to one of the five muses.
One of the original muses is side stepping and taking a graceful bow, she'll be a powerful tool but isn't one of the actual muses.
Not because she's not important, but because something even more true revealed itself. it's BTW it's so. I mean so obvious it didn't feel like it needed to be named, but now that we're about to start our fourth week in MUSE, it's become increasingly obvious in the best way possible!!
This is what it means to be in relationship to your offers, to your art. you treat the work like living breathing entities, you listen and get YOUR EFFING ego out of it.
My ego had a moment.
It whispered:
“You've already created so much content around the original muse… won't this seem sloppy?”
“Won't people get confused?”
“Shouldn't you stay consistent?”
But here's the truth:
How selfish would it be to deny the depth this work wants to take us on…
just because my ego is clinging to “continuity?”
I would rather be the living embodiment of what I teach
than to perform for the illusion of “perfection.”
This offer is alive.
And it keeps revealing more…if I'm willing to listen.
So, I've pulled one of the original podcast episodes (you'll see why soon).
A new one is on the way—and it's something else entirely.
But first… everyone inside MUSE will get the very first look.
Because when you're in the room where it's happening, you don't just witness the evolution…
you become part of it.
I mean..these beautiful women areee my muses, after all.
This is what it means to build something thats bigger than you.
