Hello my beaaautiful friends,

Let's talk about sabotage spirals for a sec.

Firstly--everyone has them. Whether I'm working with the most creative or the most masterful or the most gifted or the wealthiest…

everyone has a way in which they energetically beat themselves back into submission. submission being the place they deem as safe. but like we've talked about before, it's really just

i l l u s i o n a r y   s a f e t y

Your entrepreneurial success depends on how well you:

Gnothi Seauton.

Know Thyself.

As seen at the entrance to the temple of Apollo at Delphi (housing the Oracle of Delphi)

If we cannot track the ways in which we are being conditioned to blend in, stay small, hide, play into scarcity and ultimately live as our shadow selves….then our conditioning will rule us. rule our business. rule our prices. rule our creativity. rule our channels.

Steep this:

In the above passage, Julia Cameron gives some examples of how an artist can sabotage themselves back into “shadow artist”…they may bully themselves by comparing their early works to someone with greater mastery, they might intentionally ask for feedback from someone they know aren't supportive, or showing off their work too soon.

I can relate to having done every single one of these at some point.

Here are other ways in which you may be unconsciously sabotaging yourself:

  • Overthinking and obsessing over ideas instead of taking inspired action, leading to mental burnout.

  • Becoming rigid in beliefs or needing to always be certain, which stifles creativity and adaptability.

  • Trying to be the loudest in the room or trying so badly to be noticed, resulting in actually being overlooked.

  • Chasing external validation or a fixed sense of identity, leading to misalignment with a bigger truer purpose.

  • Overcommitting to prove how worthy you are, which can lead to failure to honor your true desires.

  • Avoiding emotional clarity, causing indecision and lack of alignment in business choices.

  • Ignoring your body's yes's or no's, leading to burnout by engaging in work that isn't meant for you.

  • Clinging to outdated fears or comfort zones, blocking growth and potential success.

  • Succumbing to pressure and rushing decisions, leading to stress and ungrounded business strategies.

That's just to name a few…we aren't even talking about perfectionism, competition, saving, imposter syndrome, ego, self abandoning or being the criticizer

The medicine:

You are not expected to track these on your own. In fact it would be impossible to see ourselves fully. Some of these characteristics were birthed from a true place of survival, of need. Some of these masochistic ways are glorified in entrepreneurship. some have become personality traits even.

that's why mentorship is a creator's best friend. you can illuminate the sabotage instead of living and creating from there.

Who we had to be when we were in survival is NOT who we get to be when we're in thrival (yes thats a word, i looked it up.)

Invitation for you:

In which way do you tend to sabotage yourself the most?

Who would you be / what would you create / where would you be by now…..if you weren't doing that to yourself?

My 1:1 is open. I have two spots left. Let's chat about how I can support you. you deserve to be seen and guided properly.

Ok so I went and bought myself two very important tools for my tea ritual.

1. An electric kettle. i feel like electric kettles are not the norm in the states. and yet every hotel or airbnb i stayed at in europe had one. Growing up I only remember seeing electrical kettles in baby nurserys to heat up formula. is that just me? did you have an electric kettle in your household? So now I have one in my office/sanctuary. That way i can wakeup and have a tea in my little cave, in my personal ceremony space, without having to go downstairs and interact with all the stimuli

2. That means i always had to buy a one person tea pot to steep the leaves and a matching tea cup, as if i don't have a collection of teacups down stairs, but to be fair…it'll also be my travel tea set!

Anywhooozers, I am drinking a mulled spice blend (Orange peel, allspice, cloves, cinnamon). I know it's not officialllly autumn, but I'm already in the vibeeee.
